Stratfor repeatedly addressed President Erdoğan as a target
US-based private intelligence and research institution Stratfor repeatedly addressed President Erdoğan as a target that night. Stratfor shared the coordinates of Erdoğan’s aircraft as it flew towards Istanbul, three times every 20 minutes on Twitter, while the coup plotters were trying to locate the President for their assassination plans. In the first tweet, content revealing Erdoğan’s aircraft over Marmara Sea, in the second tweet, content showing that it was approaching Istanbul and was about to land, was shared. In the last tweet, Stratfor reported to the public that the landing of the aircraft was confirmed and also revealed its location at Atatürk Airport.
