President Erdoğan heard about the coup attempt

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who was on holiday in Marmaris, learned that the extraordinary happenings across the country were a coup attempt, on the phone call with his brother-in-law Ziya İlgen. After Erdoğan learned about the treacherous attempt, he recited Bismillah and performed a two-rakah qasr salah. After the salah, Erdoğan began to manage the process. Around the time that Erdoğan learned about the treacherous attempt and began to manage the process, the coup plotters took off from Samandıra Military Air Base in 5 helicopters to support the coup attempt. One of the helicopters joined the coup soldiers who were conspiring an assassination attempt against President Erdoğan at Çiğli Main Jet Base. The other four helicopters flew to Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Istanbul Police Department, Vodafone Arena and Bosphorus Bridge to provide logistic support to the coup soldiers in Istanbul. When the support team in the helicopter departing from Samandıra Military Air Base landed at Çiğli Main Jet Base Command around 22:00, the MAK and SAD teams who would attack President Erdoğan’s hotel in Marmaris, started to prepare for the assault.
