Government made a statement on the latest developments
After the failed attempt, Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım made a statement at Çankaya Palace in front of cameras, together with Hulusi Akar and Efkan Ala. Yıldırım stated that we had 161 martyrs according to the initial reports. Yıldırım announced that 440 people were injured and 2, 839 soldiers with various ranks involved in this attempt were detained so far.
